TODAY IN 6A:

  • WEEKLY MASS with Fr. Daniel
  • ENGLISH: U.1 Vocabulary Test; students were given time to work on "Dragon, Dragon" Story Map pictures
  • MATH correceted previous nights HW, worked on accelerated math
  • LITERATURE: CRASH Ch. 4-6; students continue research on Quakers & the Penn Relays
  • ART
  • RELIGION: "God, Our Creator Father" S.1 Assessment
  • SOCIAL STUDIES: students were given time to complete Ch.1, S.1 Check Your Progress questions and submit to Google Classroom; then students took an online Ch.1, S.1 Practice Quiz and submitted the results to GC
  • SCIENCE Corrected previous days work watched quick video on the current Hurricanes

6A HOMEWORK:

  • unofficially--it would be wise to reread SS Ch.1, S.1 and retake the Progress Monitoring quiz on p.11 in preparation for Monday's in-class quiz (7 pts)

  • LITERATURE: class read Ch.1-3 of Crash by Jerry Spinelli (Anti-Bullying Novel Study)
  • RELIGION: students completed a self-assessment "Test Your Bible Knowledge" test preparation and received a S.1 Study Guide for tonight
  • SOCIAL STUDIES: teacher finished S.1 Studying the Distant Past & gave mini-lecture on Relative Dating vs. Scientific Dating; students logged into Google Classroom and began working on review assignment

  • ENGLISH: Vocabulary Workshop "Choosing the Right Word" pp.17-18 (#'s 1-25) completed with the teacher; Proofreading review & notes pp.17-19 in Grammar for Writing; then students were responsible to get TWO student edits in the classroom and then submit for teacher approvial
  • MATH Estimation strategies, front-end estimation and compatible #'s
  • PE
  • STAR TESTING: students used Chromebooks to take their Trimester STAR Assessment (baseline)
  • RELIGION: Introduction to St. Jerome
  • SOCIAL STUDIES: students reviewed "Five Themes of Geography" p.HT; then the class joined "Google Classroom"; students given time to begin Map Assessment HW 
  • SCIENCE Took notes on first part of Chapter 1
