TODAY IN 6A:

  • ENGLISH: students took and corrected U.8 Spelling Practice Test (+ submitted 5x each); 8.3 Irregular Verbs pp.165-166 lesson, notes, and practice
  • MATH
  • PE
  • RELIGION: students wrote Intentions (aka. Universal Prayers) for Tuesday Morning Assembly; rest of class dedicated to working on Family Life U.4 Study Guide 
  • LITERATURE: worked on "A Backwoods Boy" literature questions 
  • SSJ FAMILIES: students gathered in their SSJ families to meet the newest members (TYKE/Kindergartners) 
  • STUDY HALL: time given to students to finish "Ancient Egypt Journal" report (due tomorrow)

6A HOMEWORK:

  • ENGLISH: review missed words from today's U.8 Spelling Practice Test
  • LITERATURE: finish "A Backwoods Boy" literature questions
  • SOCIAL STUDIES: "Ancient Egypt Journal" due tomorrow (will count as a writing grade in English also)

  • ENGLISH/RELIGION: class corrected HW on Principal Parts of Verbs; notes & discussion on Lent and Lenten Promises---going beyond "giving up treats"

  • LENTEN HEARTS: students sewed purple Lenten hearts and stuffed them with their personal Lenten promises
  • VALENTINES EXCHANGE & TREATS!

TODAY IN 6A:
  • ENGLISH: 20 minutes of revising Uniform Essays for structural problems; 8.1 Verb Review and 8.2 Principal Parts & Verb Tense notes and practice (pp.163-164)
  • MATH
  • PE
  • LITERATURE: students worked (some with partners) on literary analysis questions for "A Backwoods Boy" p.420 (#'s 1-4) and p.421 (#'s 2-3)
  • RELIGION: students presented interpretations of Altruism, Empathy, and Moral Awareness; class read "Aging and Death" and discussed life going full-circle, the return of dependency in older years, and respect for the elderly 
  • SOCIAL STUDIES: Ancient Egypt Map Test; students given the rest of period to work on Ancient Egypt Journal assignment (due date postponed to Friday)
  • SCIENCE
6A HOMEWORK:
  • ENGLISH: complete "Principal Parts of Verbs and Tense Practice" handout
  • MATH (8:00 class) finish WS 4-1  (9:00 class) pg 234 1-49 Test tomorrow

  • MATH (8:00 class) estimation with Benchmark fractions (9:00 class) review for chp test on Wed
  • TET--dual classroom by Kaylie Tran and Chloe Lam (assisted by their mothers Mr. Duong & Mrs. Nguyen)
  • LITERATURE: Introduction to Abraham Lincoln; class then read "Backwoods Boy" p.410 (Biography of Lincoln's personal life)
  • SPANISH
  • RELIGION: FAMILY LIFE with 6B---Respect Thyself pp.47-49
  • SCIENCE read pgs 152-154 do questions 1-5
  • SOCIAL STUDIES: memory exercise--students recreated the Map of Ancient Egypt (from scratch) and then corrected the details with teacher

  • RELIGION: on binder paper, write about (ANY FORM OF WRITING IS ACCEPTABLE) or draw pictures/create a computerize collage of EMPATHY, ALTRUISM, and MORAL AWARENESS
