Today in 6A & 6B

ENGLISH: Students built on their efforts in learning the writing process by starting a new composition, which is posted on Google Classroom. In class students practiced pre-writing and writing their initial draft. Students were then asked to use the "suggestion" feature on Google Docs to explain their revisions. The intention here is that I get to see both their initial thoughts in writing and see how they would propose to change it. Next they use a different color font in order to edit their piece. From a grammar perspective, this tells me how well they recognize errors in spelling, mechanics and punctuation. If this was not completed between class time and AR time, it is homework. The first quiz will be this Friday.

RELIGION: We advanced to Session 2 of Unit 1 where we speak about God's creation and how he saw everything as good. As an exercise, students identified something that is widely perceived as "bad" bad celebrated its positive traits (ie: Volcanos are destructive, but they produce new land and rich fertile soil)

SOCIAL STUDIES: We continued our examination of Otzi the Iceman. Students worked in small groups to explore and share answers. We finished the class with a discussion of what we learned from this activity, both holistically about research and specifically about Otzi. This document should be submitted today. It is not homework because it was preparation for our discussion and practice for conducting research.
